Final Project Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Final Project - Essay Example In reality, the importance of classroom management and discipline cannot be alike (Jones, 2011). The importance of the former is more widespread than the latter. Classroom management is managing a student, and studying in a class set up, the student's and teacher behavior and the activity. Classroom management is the way teachers organize what takes place in a classroom. It contributes directly to the effectiveness of learning and teaching as the most helpful activities can be made almost inadequate when the educator does not organize them properly. Research has proved that 92% percent of high schools, which perform well academically, incorporate proper classroom management to help them achieve. However, discipline has diverse meanings. In other words, the educator adopts certain measures and methods to deal with a student's misbehavior issues. These issues are motivation, communication, and discipline (Jones, 2011). This paper will discuss how motivation, communication, and discipli ne fit into the larger concept of classroom management. Discipline and motivation, or understanding what makes students function is one of the leading steps in forming a successful classroom. Through, figuring out their wants and needs, a teacher can utilize this to promote self-control and growth in students (Jones, 2011). Research shows that 94 % of successful classroom management happens when students are motivated to work according to the school curriculum. However, student motivation and classroom management are normally the most difficult issues for a beginning teacher to overcome. All through the teacher-student training experience, a safe environment should be established, and a widespread policy of respect be maintained. Motivating Students and learners is the key to maintaining a maximum number of students and learners engaged in learning (Jones, 2011). Making lessons realistic, modeling excitement and addressing students' concerns are vital to motivation. Every day, the d ecisions students, make rely on conscious or unconscious factors. This is motivation (Jones, 2011). This is what drives a student to act. Motivation can be determined through goals, personality, experiences, curiosity, needs, anxiety, wants expectations and self-concept. One of the leading theories in motivation and inspiration is Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. In the theory, Maslow argued that there are eight vital needs of a human. The largest portion of human needs is physiologically related to humans. They are the essential elements of survival for instance shelter, food, comfort and good health among others. When these needs are met, a person seeks love and belonging. This is a psychological or mental need, and the individual wants to be a part of a cluster or group. The second largest potion is the esteem requirements, which include recognition and approval (Jones, 2011). The third portion is the desire and need to understand and know, or cognitive needs. Next is an aesth etic requirement when the person looks for symmetry and beauty. In the top two sections of human needs are self-transcendence and self-actualization. Self-actualization means that an individual seeks to find his or her purpose, and self-transcendence is helping others discover their purpose. This directly associates to discipline, meaning that students or learners will behave with regards to their needs. Therefore, if educators motivate students to work along their

Marketing Concept Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Marketing Concept - Essay Example The marketing concept is different from all the others, which include product, selling production and holistic marketing. This is because it involves coming up with products according to the needs of the customers. The others may involve the advertisements of the products after they are ready made. Therefore, it is more of the customer finding out about the firm. In the marketing concept, market research is thoroughly conducted. The firm takes an interest in finding out the needs of consumers. This concept exhibits some intrinsic qualities. It shows consideration of tastes and preferences of consumers, as opposed motivation by profit maximization. It also shows that the firm upholds ethics unconditionally. The reason behind this is that even the thing that matters the most does not stop the firm from doing what is right. The marketing concept is both advantageous to the firm and the consumers. People tend to think that the profits of a firm are only maximized by the most direct method s whose effects are immediately felt. However, this is never the case. There is a need to look at the future. The conduction of research on consumers might seem less expensive for a small firm. However, this is an extremely expensive undertaking for a larger firm. This is because large firms may be serving a wide geographical market. It may call for the use of most of the modern technologies. Therefore, this may seem like a method that is less advantageous to the firm.... This is because large firms may be serving a wide geographical market. It may call for the use of most of the modern technologies. Therefore, this may seem like a method that is less advantageous to the firm. However, the exact opposite is true. First, this kind of marketing attracts more customers. This is when they realize that their interests are considered by the firm. The other advantage is long term. The firm is able to establish the wants and needs of consumers. Therefore, they come up with products that have the ability to satisfy the consumers for a long time. This ensures profit maximization. Introduction of the chosen busi ness. The principal aim of this essay is to discuss the application of the marketing concept in the real world. This can only be achieved using a live example of a firm in the real world. Therefore, it was essential to consider a company that has had a long history with this concept. For this reason, Standard Life was the ideal choice. This is an investment and long term saving business. It mainly deals with life assurance. The head quarters of this company is in Edinburgh. However, its operations occur all around the globe. Series of Psychological Stories Essay Example for Free

Series of Psychological Stories Essay Case I. My Husband is a Mama’s Boy   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚     Simon had been extremely dependent to his mother in everything that he does. He would always expect her mother to be the one who would remind him of his daily routine in the office. He would expect that his mother would prepare his briefs and socks. â€Å"Don’t be jealous to my mom Fe, its just that, I got used of having mom as the one preparing everything for me†, this is what he always reasoned to his wife. Simon, did not know how to budget his money, so instead of giving his salary to his wife, he prefer to give it to her mother because he was used to having his mother as his â€Å"money keeper†. Whenever problems between them arise, Simon prefers to ask the thoughts of his mother instead of resolving the conflict between them. This has getting on and on until their two years of marriage. At the moment, Fe has been planning to divorce with her husband for the reason that she seems to be the second wife and the mother the first wife. Discussion   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   I could say that Simon had a dependent personality disorder. This unusual dependence of a married man like him, to the mother, can be traced to the way Simon was raised. For a number of persons that I had encountered with similar problems, most of them were raised in an environment with over protectiveness. In an overly protective environment, the person’s self-confidence is low and thus, (s)he is made to think that (s)he is weak, vulnerable and can’t live strongly without his/her support groups. The root of the problem is the support group of Simon-his mother. To overcome his over dependency to his mother, the latter should help Simon make decisions of his own and to teach him the right ways to deal with problems alone and even without the help of others. The mother should make the following changes to Simon slowly but persistently. Simon must realized how decisions are needed everyday and how important it is for him to decide on his own. Case 2. Marion with the big â€Å"I† Stories   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Marion has been my friend in high school. She had been a bubbly person; always seem conversational at a first meet. However, I had observed that she’s not conversational at all. When she talks, all her stories pertain to her; that she looks good in her new dress (even though her baby fats were bulging), that many boys were having a crush on her, that her teachers were all praising her. When you talk, she seems to care less, she did not really want to converse with you, rather, she wants you to listen to all the stories about herself stuffed with the â€Å"I† (I am the best speaker in our class, I had been to that place also, I am pretty, I have new dress, jewelries, etc.). Marion even during inappropriate time (like you are talking with somebody else) would butt in just to ask â€Å"do you noticed something is different with me today?† I had also remembered her of having loud voice; always talking of the latest movies that she had watched, talking how they share intimate moments with her boyfriend, etc. Discussion/ Analysis   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In the case of Marion I have difficulty distinguishing what personality disorder she has. Finally, I am settled in saying that she has a narcissistic personality disorder due to the various symptoms that I had found in her. I had already mentioned above that she care less about what people say during their conversation, what matter to her is her stories to be heard. She had always overly emphasized her achievements, even the material things that she managed to acquire. Marion is very concern of grabbing one’s attention in school; it seems that when everybody hears her stories, everyone would admire her (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/personality-disorders/DS00562/DSECTION=2). The best approach for this type of person is to tell her frankly that she’s a boring listener, that a conversation needs exchange of ideas. It would also help if she would be given comments in a constructive manner. The way she manipulates people is not good, she should be informed with this and be given alternatives to deal with her behavior positively, Case 3. Solitude is my Company   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚     The daughter of my cousin is a very sensitive person. She was already fifteen and yet, she is very shy and detached to other girls of her age. When her mother’s voice rises a bit when irritated, she can’t help but cry and feel that it’s all her fault why her mother was angry. She did not want to go out with other children because she felt, she was ugly and she would only become a mocking subject. She did not want to go near other children of her age because she’s afraid of being bullied. In class, her teacher reported that she’s always crying whenever she fails to remember a term during recitation. Whenever we have a family gathering, she would refuse to join the crowd and reasoned that she wants to sleep early. She’s not snob at people, she’s just extremely shy. Discussion/Analysis   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   The daughter of my cousin is experiencing an avoidant personality disorder based on my observation. There is no concrete cause for her behavior except that her parents failed to pay attention to her. She has always been alone in their house more often. She was also not brought to parties more often, because most of the social gatherings that her parents attended were formal and not suite for children of her age. Her self confidence is very low due to the lack of affirmation from her significant others. This leads her to be very sensitive to criticism, because she has always wanted to boost her moral through her achievements yet she felt like the world conspire against her even at the very simple and constructive criticism. To avoid this, she had voluntarily isolated herself away from others to avoid rejection. The best way to deal with this problem is for the parents to spend a significant quality time with their daughter for them to explain to her the things that are new to her. The parents should teach their daughter the realities of life and the ways to deal it constructively. Maybe, the child should be taught to make friends to the neighbor first, then followed by an affirmative attitude towards her performance in school, etc. References Mayo Clinic. (2006). Edgar Allan Poes Life and The Raven Essay - 694 Words

Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 19, 1809, in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents David and Elizabeth Poe were professional actors. They had three children: Henry, Edgar, and Rosalie. When in 1817, Mrs. Poe died, Henry was taken to be raised with his grandmother, Edgar was adopted by the wealthy couple, Frances and John Allan, and Rosalie was taken by another couple. The luckiest one became Edgar because his new parents were very wealthy people, so he was able to go to different schools. Many critics connect Poe’s tragic life with his poem’s synopsis (â€Å"Explanation†, par.1). The poem is about a man who dreams about his lost love, Lenore, and how the talking bird, who only knows one word â€Å"Nevermore†, usually visits him. Poe’s famous poem â€Å"The Raven† became very popular from the day of its publishing not only because of it doesn’t have any dates or references to historical events in it, but also because of the way he expresses his view of death and sadness. Even though it looks like the narrator has a very free and comfortable life of a wealthy person, his expression doesn’t make a clear political points. Furthermore, Poe tries to unleash the anarchy of slavery. He never waited for somebody who would destroy his life comfort and his work, he was just writing things he felt and expressed himself via his excellent poems.
